"The hands help the development of the intellect. When a child is capable of using his hands, he can have a quantity of experiences in the environment through using them. In order to develop his consciousness, then his intellect, and then his will, he must have exercises and experiences." Maria Montessori, 1946

We believe that children learn best through real work, real play, and real connection.

Guided by the vision of a Montessori farm school and the Erdkinder (children of the Earth) entrepreneurial foundation — the adolescent’s stage of social independence — our program expands into the wilds of the Shasta landscape.

The students are invited to:

  • Learn through doing — gardening, cooking, building, tracking, crafting, and caring for animals.

  • Think through relationship — listening deeply to the rhythms of nature, land and community.

  • Grow through responsibility — developing confidence, creativity, and care.

We honor each child as a whole being — mind, body, heart, and spirit — and see education as a pathway of belonging and purpose.
