Wails & Whispers Between The Worlds - Grief Circle Mount Shasta

We need rituals in this society. A ritual is for our soul as food for our physical body. 

In many cultures, communal grief rituals are the “glue” of the community. They offer us one of the most powerful ways to reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. These rituals remind us of our shared humanity and help us find belonging and tend to the longing.

In this afternoon, through the Wails and Whispers, we come together as a village to be witnessed in our sorrow. By listening to others, we learn to articulate what often feels inexpressible. In this space, we aim to destigmatize grief, metabolize it, and move away from the idea that grief is pathological. This is a beautiful opportunity to co-regulate our nervous systems in the village and be reminded that we are not alone.
